Visiting Luma: Polygon’s new highrise development in Burnaby

Our team got an invitation for a blogger’s event to get a sneak preview of the new Luma Condos in Burnaby just prior to the opening of public registration, so Laura and I decided to check it out. Polygon is one of Vancouver’s dominant developers, having worked on several developments in the Lower Mainland amounting to over 18,000 homes. This is a pre-sale event and therefore the building is just in the beginning stages of development, however we got to have a look at the bathroom and kitchen finishes and toured the sales centre.

The line-up for registration started the night before opening day (which was at noon) and when we got there there was a good sized crowd waiting. The homes feature sophisticated high-end finishes, including granite countertops, stainless steel appliances, tile backsplash, etc. There are two colour schemes, both neutral and classy…which we can appreciate since neutral is great for resale! The building is extremely close to the Vancouver area’s largest shopping centre, Metrotown, and is also only 10 minutes or so to major highways, making it a very convenient location for both shopping and commuting. Two bedrooms start in the low $300,000′s, making these units affordable as well! Whether you’re considering investing or whether it’s for yourself, they’re definitely worth taking a look.
