Kits Fest 2009!
Every summer for a few days in August, locals in Vancouver flock to Kitsilano Beach (nicknamed Kits Beach) to cheer on independent sport teams competing for good, old-fashioned, FUN!
Kitsilano as a community is a huge advocate of healthy living and outdoor sports, and KitsFest is a perfect event for all to appreciate their enthusiasm and dedication…whether you’re one of the really tall guys on the court, or there for support. Thousands of people attend, plus 5oo competitive athletes and even if you aren’t a big ball fan there’s still the food, tennis tournament, and of course, one of the best beaches in BC (beach volleyball, anyone?)!
Luckily we had a gorgeous few days for the event, and my friend and I went to watch the games and cheer on friends on the court. After we walked around the Kitsilano trail where people walk, jog, walk their pooches, bike, all while enjoying gorgeous views of the West End of Downtown Vancouver and the North Shore. Really, can it get any better than that?
