Kitsilano
The Kitsilano community is located on the west end, on the water just on the other end of the Burrard Bridge from Downtown Vancouver. Kitsilano, nicknamed “Kits”, is known for its beaches, parks, and mountain views, along with its trendy shopping and dining districts. Restaurants, cafes (Starbucks around every corner!), bookstores, theatres, bars, open-air grocers and boutiques line the commercial streets, the Maritime Museum, along with one of the most popular beaches in Vancouver, Kitsilano Beach. The longest salt-water swimming pool in Canada is located at the beach and is a popular destination during the summer months.
Kitsilano residents are very health conscious, and a number of fitness centers, bicycle shops and sports stores can be found. Vanier Park holds the annual Vancouver International Children’s Festival in May, and in the summer time the open-air Shakespearean “Bard on the Beach” can be watched. Kitsilano beach looks out to English Bay and the Burrard Inlet, and beach volleyball players can enjoy a game or two at the courts |

on the northern end of the beach. Kitsilano is a very tight knit community and a three-day event called “Kits Days” can be enjoyed in the month of June. Sidewalk sales, outdoors cooking and family entertainment is available at this joyous event. |

Needless to say, real estate prices in this popular neighborhood are at a high mark, with the lowest price single-family residence currently listed at just under one million. Condos are available in the high $200k’s, and townhomes start at around at the higher $400k’s.
